Sergeant Sandell is an advocate of Bikers In Need Foundation and wants you to know:
Motorcycling can be a fun and exciting recreation for people of all ages as long as it is done safely and the rules of the road are followed. Bikers need to be aware of their individual riding skills and be constantly vigilant of their surrounding to include the movement of other traffic around them. Unfortunately, many crashes involving motorcycles are the result of other drivers either not seeing the motorcycle or the biker is overriding their abilities. Keep your motorcycle under control at all times and place yourself on the roadway so other traffic has the ability to see you. Driving defensively is extremely important for all bikers to keep in mind every time they ride.
Many motorcycle dealerships and the State of Minnesota offer training courses that will enable you to minimize dangerous situations or help you react in case of unexpected dangers. Every rider should take advantage of these opportunities to learn assertive riding skills.
RIDE SAFE, MAINTAIN YOUR MOTORCYCLE, HAVE FUN, & WEAR A HELMET.
